Until now, 180 cases have been reported (1-3), accounting for an incidence rate of nearly 0.3-4 % (1). The coexistence of meningioma and intracranial aneurysms is even rarer with only 94 cases reported in the literature (1-3). Meningioma has been the most common intracranial tumor along with aneurysm (1). While the aneurysm of other arteries along with meningioma is relatively more common, only 3 cases with basilar artery accompanied by meningioma have been reported (4). A case of coexisting basilar artery aneurysm and multiple meningiomas has been reported in the light of the relevant literature.

Successful Coil Embolization of a Ruptured Basilar Artery Aneurysm in a Child with Leukemia: A Case Report
Ruptured intracranial aneurysms are rare in the pediatric population compared to adults. This has incited considerable discussion on how to treat children with this condition. Here, we report a child with a ruptured saccular basilar artery aneurysm that was successfully treated with coil embolization. A 12-year-old boy with acute lymphoblastic leukemia and accompanying abdominal candidiasis aft...
متن کاملMicrosurgical treatment of carotid-ophthalmic aneurysm associated with multiple anterior and posterior circulation aneurysms
BACKGROUND The clipping of multiple intracranial aneurysms in 1 stage is uncommon. In this case, we report clipping of an ophthalmic aneurysm associated with multiple anterior and posterior circulation aneurysms via the Dolenc approach. METHODS The main symptoms of the patient are headache, along with nausea and vomiting. The patient's arteriogram revealed a wide-necked aneurysm of the right ...
متن کاملDolichoectatic basilar artery: a review of 23 cases.
The dolichoectatic basilar artery was found in 23 cases during a 10-year period. The 19 males and 4 females ranged in age from 30 to 69 years (mean: 55 years). Hypertension was noted in 17 patients. In seventeen (74%) of the present cases this anomaly could be visualized with CT scan. Seven patients (30%) presented with pontine infarction, which was identified on CT scan in all cases. Vertebro-...
متن کاملNascent aneurysm formation at the basilar terminus induced by hemodynamics.
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Hemodynamic insults at arterial bifurcations are hypothesized to play a key role in intracranial aneurysm formation. This study investigates aneurysm-initiating vascular responses at the rabbit basilar terminus subsequent to common carotid artery ligation. METHODS Nine adult female New Zealand white rabbits were subjected to sham, unilateral, or bilateral common carotid...
متن کاملGiant aneurysm of the basilar artery in an 86 year old woman
In this article we present an 80 year old female patient with an unruptured giant aneurysm of the basilar artery presenting with posterior circulation ischemic symptoms. Angiography and CT revealed giant basilar aneurysmal dilatation with severe and wide intracranial arteriosclerosis. We described the uniqueness of this case. Giant basilar aneurysm is associated with various complications parti...
